Website Designs
My opinion:
Took me some time to find this website, really liked it! "http://qubestudio.com/". First thing for me that is really important is definitely the layout. If the layout is poorly designed on a website it can really frustrate the user and up their stress levels... This is something that always gets me annoyed as a lot of the time I can never find what is needed in 10 seconds or less. A well designed website will:
- Enable the user to find what is needed in three clicks or less.
- Ensure that the user immediately knows what the website is for.
- Ensure the client can contact the firm with ease.
- Ensure the layout is not confusing and repetitive (in terms of information)
These what I think all websites should implement. However things that determine wether or not the user will like the website include:
- The design
- The colors incorporated
- The effects
I really liked this next website because as you drag your mouse over menu it brightens up and clears the picture up. It also comes up with a little text box to ensure you know what each button/link does.
The thing I like most about this website is the use of cubes and squares to implement a smooth and futuristic look to it. It's user friendly, it's organized, it's easy on the eyes. It's my favorite web design. Even the choice of arrangement in photos in the gallery looks awesome...

Good Interviewing Tips!
An interview is vital in determining what a client or a number of clients want or need when developing a solution to their problem. The right questions must be asked to enable the developer to solve these problems. There are various examples of interviewing techniques such as - Stress interview where the interviewee is asked questions that could cause them to feel uncomfortable, they may also be interrupted whilst they talk to make them feel discomfort. This is used to see how potential employees will react under pressure.
- Multiple interviews are used when employers want to get extensive detail on the abilities and skills that potential employees may have. This may be done by various different interviewees and a conclusion is then set based on this.
- Screening interview: it may be difficult for an interviewee to personally meet the interviewer. A time can therefore be set and a screening interview, through use of a phone, can be setup. This can be used when the interviewee is overseas.
These techniques are used by business managers everyday but can be incorporated in a friendly one to one client interview.

ICT - Health and Safety video
For our ICT project we had to make a video on Health and Safety rules for ICT in an organization, this was quite fun to do. Things we covered include employee safety such as insuring back support on a chair which is adjustable.

Available interfaces for the disabled
![]() |
| A keyboard for one hand! |
- Voice recognition: this can be a software and a hardware as programs can be bought that convert speech into text.
- Braille printers: this may be used by one who is blind it enables them to read text on a piece of paper.
- Speech: the opposite of voice recognition, this enables users to, for example, hear what they are typing.
- Keyboards with larger keys: this makes it easier for certain users to type
- On screen keyboards: enables users with physical disabilities to type more easily
- Reading pens enable users to read text from a piece of paper, this could help the blind.
- Joysticks could help certain physically disabled people
- Touch screens can act as a mouse this may be easier to use than a conventional mouse.
These technologies help the disabled in a big way, they are used in schools, workstations and at home everyday. Some of them are quite cool too like the one handed keyboard^^
